Message from the Sergeant

Thank you for your interest in a career position with Oregon Patrol Service. I speak for the  Human Resources Team when I say we are excited at the prospect of working with you!   We are the destination for career-minded security professionals.

Oregon Patrol Service offers more – more opportunities for advancement, more training, more recognition, more opportunities to have an impact on clients and our organization, more creative benefits to further your skills & education and yes, higher compensation. We are committed to building careers rather than just filling jobs.

We’ve promised our clients the best talent in the industry. That promise comes with a cost – both to you and to us. I know we’ll have to attract the best in the business through a combination of wages and benefits and frankly, that costs us more. However, I also know that in the long run, it’ll pay off with more skillful, committed officers who are familiar with and take a genuine interest in, our clients. We believe this proactive approach will minimize costs associated with the constant hiring and training of patrol officers enabling us to maximize value to the client.

The cost to you? It’ll start with the hiring process...it’s not easy and it’s not overnight. From the Application, to the Statement of Personal History, to the background investigation and interview process – you may begin to feel as if you’ve applied for a position with a law enforcement agency. For that, I make no apologies; it’s part of how we honor our promise to our clients.

The bar doesn’t drop once you’re hired: We have extremely high expectations of personal and professional integrity, excellence in the execution of your patrol responsibilities, and personal grooming and uniform standards.   While I encourage all to consider applying, those individuals with prior law enforcement, military/paramilitary background, or more complex private security experience may find it easier to adapt to the high standards.

If you’re ready to take the next step, I encourage you to contact us via the Contact Us link provided or you can email hr@oregonpatrolservice.com.

Let me be the first to congratulate you on your decision to pursue a career with the best!

Sincerely,

      Laurie Furlong
